Antique Italian painted chest from early 1900's. Hardware had been updated to large polished nickel bookplates and knobs to freshen the piece The piece sits on tapered legs, typical of that period of time. The finish is possibly not original (not sure) but is still old. the color is blue grey - the blue is more evident in certain light. the second and third pictures show the two colors that are most evident in the layered finish.
