The carving to the base is second to note, it is hand chiselled from top to bottom, the main body has herms / ships busts followed by feathers and flowers leading up to sea shells, it truly is a work of art and belongs in a museum The frame is gold gilt fruitwood, it is the original gilding and is very thick and has a wonderful patination. The marble top is Italian Carrara marble and has a light thin vein of grey going through it The condition is excellent for the period, there is nothing negative to note, it just has a good honest patina all over Dimensions Height:- 107.5cm Width:- 79.5cm Depth:- 51cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point.
