Table lamp Bumling designed in 1968 by Anders Pehrson for Ateljé Lyktan. White metal shade standing on a trumpet shaped foot. Complete with white plastic defuser. While many Swedes recognize this iconic chubby lamp, its history is far from straightforward. The manufacturer Ateljé Lyktan was founded by Hans & Verna Bergström in 1934. About twenty years later, Hans decided to design a small lantern. Inspired by the metal canopies of his own lamps, Bergström designed a metal candleholder with a tulip-shaped glass shade, known as the 100L “Ofir”. However, the Bergströms were forced to leave Ateljé Lyktan in the late 1950s due to financial difficulties, and the company was sold for less than a dollar to the engineer Anders Pehrson. Over the years, he modernized the factory and adapted products to the aesthetics of the 1960s and 1970s. Pehrson, intrigued by the small candleholder, transformed its metal base into the now-famous chubby pendant lamp. The first Bumling, (“the Boulder”), was unveiled at the Gothenburg lighting fair in 1968 to widespread acclaim. This piece has an attribution mark,

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).

Cancellations

- Chairish Express In-Home deliveries are currently only offered for international cross-border shipments.
- The item will be delivered to your home and placed in the desired room. The delivery service includes unpacking, inspecting, and removing packaging materials; and does not include installation or setting up the item.
- Shipping charges start at $999 and vary based on the size, weight, packaging, and/or the value of the item.
- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
- You will need tools and/or equipment to open the crate.
- Shipping charges start at $799 and vary based on the size, weight, packaging, and/or the value of the item.
- Chairish Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.
- Only available in selected markets.
- Chairish In-Home Delivery
