Robert Rauschenberg ( 1925 - 2008 ) The American born Modernist artist of a Jewish background is recognized as one The 20th Century's most influential and prolific artists. He is credited with binding the gap between the movements of Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art. A pioneer of the " Transfer Drawing " process, he experimented with technologically sophisticated combinations of photographs and drawings. He is highly regarded as a Modern Master of mixed media and collage. The works are layered and transcend the two-dimensional format for the viewer. Art works by Rauschenberg are included in the collections of more than 70 of the world's most prestigious museums.

The rare out-of-print 1st edition hardcover exhibition art book measures 8 3/4" W X 12 1/8" H X 5/8" D, with 96 pages. It features 67 lithograph print poster artwork illustrations, catalogue list of plates, and an artist chronology biography.

It is in excellent " like new " clean condition consistent with age, light signs of handling, and very light wear to the back side of the dust jacket.
