The scene is most likely of a Seattle / Oregon coast as the artist did much of his work in the Northwest region of the United States. This is one of his early works.

Jef Gunn (1955-) is an artist from the Pacific Northwest. He began studying art in Southern California in the 1970s then moved to various locations in Washington and Oregon. He soon began showcasing his work in various international shows and exhibits. Jef Gunn's work is represented by the William Traver Gallery in Seattle, by i.e. gallery in Edison, Washington, by Cedar Street Galleries in Honolulu, and by Augen Gallery in Portland, Oregon.
