Black metal thin sculpture, in the style of Philippe Hiquily.
this has a bimorphic, angular, somewhat tribal feel, possibly African or Ethiopian influence. This piece was hung on the wall in our home.
Unsigned, and I am not sure where my Dad purchased it. It was in our home since approximately mid 1950s.
Unsure of country of origin, but I believe it was purchased in the US.
The measurements are approximate, due to the irregular shape and forms of this piece. See photos with ruler for clarification.
There are some scratches and ‘blemishes on the finish. See detail photos. It is a matte black finish. There are holes to accommodate screws for hanging on a wall. See last photo, circled area indicates hole.
I have seen other examples of similar works, but not this exact unique design.
