This original framed graphic art lithographic poster entitled "Chez Panisse Cafe & Restaurant Seventeenth Birthday" was created by David Lance Goines in 1988 in his Berkeley studio. The poster was printed in 14 colors in an edition of 839. This one is a limited edition, hand signed and numbered, 68/300, in pencil by the artist in the lower right. The poster was created to celebrate the 17th anniversary of the opening of the famous Berkeley gourmet restaurant, Chez Panisse, by its iconic founder Alice Waters, who was and presumably is still a friend of the artist. Goines' name and 1988, the year of the poster's creation, are printed to the lower left of the little girl. It depicts a likeness of Alice Waters, the famous chef herself, as a little girl of 18 months. It is based on a photo taken by her mother, who had dressed Alice as a salad for a school play.
This original limited edition signed poster measures 24" high and 17.38" wide. The print is in excellent condition.
