A Dutch earthenware jug, glazed in green, beige and brown colors. The jug is marked under the foot with the Mobach Utrecht mark, used around 1920. The jug is numbered with model number 512. The Jug measures 22 cm high, 20 cm wide with handle and 17 cm deep. The weight is 1185 grams. In 1895 Klaas Jan Mobach (1855-1928) from Bolsward founded a pottery in Jutphaas. He thus laid the foundation for a family business that still occupies a prominent place in the Dutch pottery industry. Successive generations of Mobach have followed the various changes in technique and style, so their production provides a good overview of the most important directions in 20th-century ceramics. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
