We typically only come across the smaller Mughal style of paintings that are miniature in size. So finding this piece was a wonderful surprise! This piece comes from Northern India and features a royal Indian horse with pink accents. The painting has not been examined outside the frame, but we believe it to be painted on silk, as most are. A beautiful pink floral hand-painted border surrounds the animal. Just inside the gold gilt frame, is a lovely and unexpected pink marble matt inset into the frame. Such a lovely touch! This would be a great piece for a nursery or as a statement piece in an entryway or formal living.
