JOSEPH REMI SANTELE

Artist, painter and portraitist, Joseph R. Santele, was born on January 5, 1939, in Flanders, Belgium. He is the brother of Tony Sandler, of Sandler & Young fame and lives in Antwerp, the cultural center of Belgium.

His artistic schooling and education took place, first in the city of Tourcoing, Northern France and second in Lille, France, where he got his Certificat d'Aptitude et Formation Artistique Superieure. In 1959, Mr. Santele won a first prize at the Academy of Paris, the famous Albert Copieux award and with it, his Diplome National des Beaux Arts.

Joseph R. Santele has exhibited his works on both continents, in the United States in New York, Chicago, Baltimore, Washington D.C., Philadelphia and the Minneapolis/St. Paul area; in Western Europe in Lyon, Le Havre, Avingon, Paris, Antwerp, Kortrijk and Amsterdam. See less
