From the "back steps" of Neiman Marcus in 2006. This early piece by Bobby Tirelli was selected, displayed and auctioned by Neiman Marcus, Chicago as part of a fundraiser.
True freeform abstract expressionism at it's best, nothing preconceived. Pure honesty in paint.
Andy Warhol probably would have loved this painting.

The nonprofit organization Project Onward is housed in the Bridgeport Art Center and it “exists to give a ‘visual voice’ to artists with neurodiversity.” Project Onward sponsors and provides artists like "Mr. Bobby Tirelli" studio space and materials free of charge and provides encouragement, socializing and opportunities to show their work. He is self-taught and has no formal training.
The art of Bobby Tirelli is extremely colorful and upbeat, and is both quirky and clever. Sometimes his art is careful and meticulous, and sometimes boldly expressive and loose.
The Project Onward website says: 'Overall, the imagined spaces in these works are inhabited by fantastic things—by animals, plants, superheroes, cities, landscapes and supernatural creatures. The urge to create the illusion of space on a flat surface is as old as art itself. Think ancient Chinese and Greek art and Roman wall painting. Modernists and purists would say that illusionism is pure artifice—a lie. But it also delights, pulling us into a fabricated, shared space. Constructed spaces can also suggest ideas such as memory, identity, geography and even consciousness itself.'
