19th Century French Louis Philippe Bookcase ~ Display Armoire features a tailored architecture that allows it to blend with a … Read more 19th Century French Louis Philippe Bookcase ~ Display Armoire features a tailored architecture that allows it to blend with a wide variety of styles and decors! The classic arched bonnet is crowned with bold molding detail, and features a circular framework in the design creating an interesting visual effect. A single arched door underneath is also trimmed in fine molding and includes a triple arched glazing that allows one to view the contents within. Open the door to reveal five surfaces including four adjustable shelves, allowing almost infinite possibilities for displaying and storing books, keepsakes, collections and objets d'art. Below the door is a full width drawer that features the same molding design as the bonnet above but on a rectilinear background. The subtly scrolled apron below the drawer cleverly conceals yet another full width drawer, under which are bun feet for support. Corners are both mitered to soften the impact on the traffic pattern in the room, further enhanced by the shallowness of the design. Sycamore hardwood was used which has been stained and finished to reveal interesting naturalistic grain patterns to further enhance the appearance.
