The chair is not only an antique but also a sturdy and functional piece, demonstrating wood stick and ball craftsmanship. Raised on turned legs and a stretcher base, this corner chair boasts a striking design with double-railed construction and classic bobbin details.

The carved bobbin turned legs are connected by a bottom stretcher, providing structural integrity. The back of the chair features turned ladders on two sides, complemented by a traditional patterned caned seat. Its compact size makes it versatile, fitting seamlessly into various decorating situations, particularly in corners, hallways, or by the fireplace.

This corner chair serves as a perfect accent for a guest room, fireplace, or as additional seating throughout the house. The French solid turned oak wood construction, coupled with a woven cane seat, adds a touch of elegance. Despite its age, the chair remains structurally sound, and the cane seat is in very good condition.

Crafted in France around 1895, the chair measures H 25 in. x W 16 in. x D 16 in., with a seat height of 14.5 in. While the wood displays numerous small, tiny holes attributed to old termite activity, it has been treated long ago, ensuring the wood's durability and maintaining its authentic antique appearance. The chair's overall condition is excellent, showcasing the enduring beauty of French craftsmanship from the 19th century. less
