Oil on canvas. Hand-signed by the artist on the lower left and on the back. Without date. Including frame. Giovanni March (Tunis, 1894 – Livorno, 1974) was born from Italian parents. After his father's death, he moved to Livorno, where he soon came in contact with the post-Macchiaioli painters of the Labronic group. He held his first solo exhibition in 1921 at the Aldo Gonnelli Gallery in Florence. He had a great success and, two years later, he exhibited at the Galleria Vinciana in Milan. In 1928, he moved to France and exhibited both in Nice and in Paris. In 1938, he moved with his family to Florence to teach at the Academy of Arts and Design. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
