Barbara Stonecipher (1921-2011) framed painting on canvas board titled Noyo #7 depicting the bay of Noyo, California. The wonderfully colorful scene is beautiful in it's simplicity. The piece is initialed in the lower right corner BS, and retains an address label from her Larkspur California residence along with a stamped dated June 8, 1965 with Title Noyo $7 all on verso. This was her most prolific period of painting during her lifetime. The piece is framed in a simple teakwood sloped frame.
Barbara studied art at the Indianapolis School of Art and at Cranbrook Academy of Art (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan). In the late fifties, living in Larkspur, California, she became a member of the San Francisco Artists Co-op and Marin Society of Artists. For ten years, she painted full-time, selling her work in group and solo shows.
