"Chanctonbury" is the ring of trees planted on the remains of an Iron Age fort on Chanctonbury hill on the south downs, West Sussex.
A old Aldridge Bros. label indicates the title, artist and medium.
A second label indicates one of the owners of this work: Miss S.M.E. Sheldon, The Tile House, 49 Wilbury Avenue, Hove, E. Sussex, BN3 6GH, Tel: (0273) 779944.
The painting has been cleaned, rematted in Antique White Museum matboard, lined, Conservation Clear Glass, museum backing, framed in 3/4" antiqued gold moulding. See less
