A triptych consisting of three cast bronze or brass panels with traces of original silvering, mostly discernible from the outside
When opened, it displays well detailed images depicting Gospel scenes
On the outside there are two medallions with Virgin Mary the Mother of God in the center, and with a crucifix on the top, surrounded by bicephalic eagle images - symbols of Imperial Russia
It is a traditional Russian "scladen (складень)" - a folding icon, intended as a traveling relic carried for veneration and protection
Circa early 18th c., before the 1722 Prohibition Edict of Tzar Peter The Great

Measurements: Approx. 6.25" tall x 3.75" wide x 5/12" thick overall when closed; it stretches to 7.25" wide with all 3 panels open
Weighs about 1 lb. 7 oz.
