Studio Pottery collectors take note:
Born in Memphis in 1939 Cynthia Bringle is a significant potter/ceramist highly respected for her organic shaped works inspired nature and Japan. She led the ceramics and pottery movement at the Penland School of Crafts Museum in North Carolina and her works are included in Museums around the country
This bud vase is circa 1968- 1972. It has an organic shape with different subtle angles and sides. The bud vase appears to depict seaweed lying in the sand as the ocean at the rim starts to wash over. The piece is clearly signed on the bottom.
This piece may be small but it is powerful and serene all at once. A true work of art.
