This listing is for an antique Japanese koto instrument.
A koto is a traditional 13 stringed Japanese zither/harp.
This koto dates to the 19th century (Meiji Period).
The koto is played flat (horizontally) or on the lap.
Due to this koto's age, we have it vertically upright so that it can be hung on the wall.
Kotos of this age are difficult to come by.
