Large ceramic fondue pot or saucepan from the Robert Picault workshop which specialized in culinary tableware.
Robert Picault, a renowned ceramist active in the 20th century, marked his era with his unique ceramic creations, including the famous large fondue pot. Specializing in culinary tableware, Picault innovated by developing its own alquifoux, a distinctive mixture of lead sulphide and sand. Inspired by the Muslim Middle Ages, its style is distinguished by geometric patterns, made in duotones of blue, manganese, and the emblematic shades of green and manganese. His collaboration with artists such as Picasso and Roger Capron enriched his work, while his factory fulfilled orders from the Aga Khan. The collector's items, signed "Picault", bear witness to his exceptional know-how, while the industrial creations are recognized by the monogram "rp" after his departure. The fondue pot, emblematic of his work, remains a symbol of Picault's ceramic culinary heritage. This piece has an attribution mark,
