The previous owner sent us this: " My grandfather, Douglas Sloane Watson, worked for WJ Sloane in San Francisco in the late 1800’s. This was around the same time that WR Hearst was building the Hacienda del Pozo de Verona for his mother in Pleasanton, CA, just east of SF. Our best guess is that my grandfather through WJ Sloane was asked to get some Mexican furniture for the Hacienda and acquired some for himself."

Copies were made in 1900 from these three originals by the San Francisco firm of McCann, Belcher and Allen. Those other three are on this site. If you look hard you can spot the very slight variation. Essentially the two sets of chairs comprise a six chair dining set to go with the other pieces we acquired of this suite: a settee, a side table, a dining table and a side board, also currently viewable on this site.
