Documented to the Arte … Read more Beautiful and large, vintage Murano hand blown Sommerso double fish Italian art glass aquarium block sculpture. Documented to the Arte Vetraria Muranese company (A.Ve.M.). Similar pieces are published in the company book, and dated to the 1950s. There is a yellow, red, and dark amethyst purple fish, and a darker amethyst purple fish, both are blowing bubbles and swimming among algae. They also have copper aventurine flecks within, that catches the light. The aquarium is made with 3 very thick layers of glass sandwiched together. Would make a great display piece on any desk, side table or credenza. Mid-century era. There is a pontil ark on the side, added as a request (see last photo). Measures 8 1/2" long x 6" tall x 2 1/8" wide.
