Bold elegant set of 2 tall Meiji Period (1868-1912) Japanese bronze temple shokudai floor candle holders. The set is in the shape of stylized chrysanthemum blossoms and original ebony lacquer, long fluted stem that supports a holder with 2.5" opening, perfect for large pillar candles. Graduating in height, substantial and heavy in weight. These types of oversized candle holders were traditionally used in Buddhist temples or Samurai's resident where they were placed at the altar table for worshiping.
