Crafted in southern France circa 1780, the table stands on thick barley twist legs decorated with diamond shape medallions at the shoulder, and connected at the base with a twisted H form stretcher embellished with a central finial and floral rosettes at the corners. The top built with a oak frame and carved edges, features a inset blue onyx and marble surface decorated with a black and white checker or chess board game in the center. The table is further dressed with a large drawer across the front embellished with the original bronze knobs. The game table is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich dark oak patinated finish along with a colorful top. A true one-of-a-kind! Key and lock included.
