At one side two priestess or goddesses are involved in a divination ritual with fire
At the other side another couple of divine figures are standing next to a statue of the winged archer cherub on pedestal - Eros / Cupid. The goddess with a bird and a wreath in her hands is most likely Athena / Minerva, the other deity is Artemis / Diana, with the deer behind her
The scenes are separated with lush trees and flowers
Elaborate floral border with fruits around the top rim, bunches of grapes and vine leaves at the base
Pierced insert cover with thirteen holes.
Clearly stamped on bottom: Wedgwood
There are also a number 7 and dots markings

Invented in 1767, prior to the development of Wedgwood’s iconic jasperware, the blue and white stoneware that has since become synonymous with the brand, black basalt was designed to mimic the inky-black luster of volcanic basalt stone. To achieve the hue, an iron-oxide rich slurry of manganese and iron—sourced from nearby coal mines—was added to a clay body and fired in a kiln at high temperatures. The pieces were completed with an inky matte finish
