Here we … Read more Tuduc was a weaver/forger operating primarily in the interwar period, creating close copies of classical Ottoman Turkish rugs. Here we have a "Bird Rug" with budding osettes and "bird" leaves, on an ecru ground. Ecru border with cloud bands in two colors. More balanced and rigid than the Oushak/Selendi originals. Originals are 16-17th centuries. Tuduk fooled many buyers, including museums, with his all-to-accomplished forgeries. Good condition. Moderate weave. See less
