This Antique Sutherland narrow gate leaf table was crafted from rich tiger oak in the late 19th century. Sutherland Tables, a hallmark of Victorian ingenuity, feature a remarkably slender gateleg design with a unique, narrow center, making them an ideal serving table. When extended, it exudes larger proportions, yet conveniently fols away when not in use.
This remarkable piece boasts an nice gate leg action support by brass casters, adorned with beautifully turned upright supports and a finely crafted turned cross stretcher. Versatile and delicate in appearance, it surprisingly maintains robustness when fully extended.
Height is 29 1/4 inch. Length is 42 1/4 inch.
Width when closed is 7 1/2 inch at the top and 14 1/2 at the feet.
Width when 1 side opened is 24 1/2 and when both sides are extended is 41 3/4 inch
