This lovely oil on canvas is by Ann Julia Rant, a German born artist. The painting is a floral still life very typical of her work. The colors are yellow and green with a touch of orange. This is signed only with her last name. Some of her paintings were signed with her full name. The frame is original and is carved and gilded. The inside of the frame has a linen mat. On the back is written that the painting was purchased from Manheim Gallery in New Orleans in the 1970’s. Manheim is a well known gallery that specializes in European antiques and art.
The outside of the frame measures 15”w x 17”h x 2”d. The painting itself measures 8”w x 10”h.
