  • "Hughie: I'm still interested in the chest, but before I proceed I would like the additional photos I talked about. When do you expect that they will be posted? Herb"

  • "The chest is in climate controlled storage, and I'll go there and get the photos you requested. Woods used in the production of Chinese furniture vary depending on the region the furniture was produced, but also the function and for whom it was to be made. There are literally hundreds in a vast country that are used in cabinetry:for example, northern elm, southern elm, camphor, cypress, laurel, pine, fir, and subspecies of each. I'd bet on elm. Chairish handles shipping, so you'd have to contact them."

  • "A few questions regarding the Petite Brass-Bound Chest listed for $180. (1) The online photos show neither the top nor the inside drawers/cabinet. Can you provide me with photo and description & condition of these. (2) Do you know the species of wood the chest is made from? (3) I live in Sunnyvale, CA (near San Francisco), what would be the estimated shipping? Regards, Herb"
