Baroque piece XVII-XVIII centuries, carved and gilded wood.
Magnificent sculptural work that was part of an outstanding Spanish altarpiece of the Baroque period, around the seventeenth and eighteenth century in the Andalusian focus. A stipe is an inverted truncated pyramidal column or pilaster that sometimes serves as a support. Of this piece, the combined shaft stands out, decorated all over the surface with floral and vegetal motifs. After the task of fine carving, the piece has been gilded with 24 carat gold. It is a jewel of Spanish baroque collection of outstanding quality and category. It comes from an outstanding and extensive private collection in Cordoba.
It can be divided into two parts for easy handling. In good condition for its age and that, it lacks minor parts that are detailed in the images.
Dimensions: 210 x 25 x 21cm.
