The jambs having fluted panels with carved husks, separated by a Sienna marble moulding with another carved panel of urns, tapering pedestals, swags and foliate detail. The end blocks again of carved urns, swags and bell drops. The centre tablet celebrating the arts, depicting putti drawing, writing and sculpture. The plaque flanked on either side by stop fluted panels with carved leaf fielded edge. All beneath a wide stepped mantel. A finely carved piece in superior Italian white marble.
