The boot has some iconography … Read more C .1950s; Mid-Century, Hollywood Regency Era, Italian made, brass woven boot cigarette holder, combination ashtray. The boot has some iconography images or symbols, such as a fire brigade helmet, mining pick, sun shapes throughout all sides, and top end of boot. The intricate sewn, raised details of the boot or shoe also depicts a more traditional nature of culture and creative process of a tradesmen. The unusualness of this is the end lifts up, to show an interior portion for an ashtray, including a groove or indention on each side, in which to rest lit cigarettes, while also harkening to a time, of Hollywood Regency grandeur; when smoking, and entertaining were synonymous to social gatherings, either in an office, or workplace environment, at home, for dinner, social gatherings, after dinner drinks and a smoke. on could imagine a mad men era, with a smoking jacket, after dinner, or a party with dancing and gathering in groupings were the norm. There is some patina, with age, use, and era of manufacture, but we polished as much to glisten the brass, for future preservation and use, beyond a novelty cocktail table top, office, man cave, desk, or any interior capability desired.
