When drop down portion of desk is open it adds 13" to total depth.. Stunning top book case section with 3 shelves including the bottom. The drop down burled wood slant top section reveals a secretary area with writing top with original old worn leather and a newer yet old cubby drawer section. The bottom 2 drawers reveal same time period installed cabinetry including slots, shelves and drawers. Wood is a bit different then the original wood for case itself. This piece was purchased from an estate in Philadelphia. Good condition, really only flaws are the leather top on the secretary and the newer installation of cabinetry in the base section and drop down secretary. Bottom center strip between doors appears to be replaced and newer in age too. All is original and in good condition. See less
