An original antique oil on canvas painting of a barnyard scene. The scene depicts a wagon, rooster and several chickens among straw and wood. Artist is Edward Quitton whose signature appears on lower right. Measures overall 22” x 27” and painting 15” x 19 ¾”. Good antique condition, no damage, photos depict true condition.
Edward Quitton: Born in Peruwelz in 1842 and died in 1921. Painter of animals, genre scenes and still life. He was particularly known for his representation of dead birds. Worked in Antwerp up until 1921, then in Brussels.
