It has two large cabinet doors that fully open. Inside is a slot for a shelf that is no longer there. A new one can be made fairly easily. One can be made in our shop if desired. There is a hooked latch that allows the left door to remain locked shut. The right door has a key hole but there is no key for this piece. The drawer is held together with a technique known as a cove and pin joint which dates the dresser roughly from 1871 - 1900. Beautiful piece that has always been well cared for.
