A vintage set of six sterling silver gilt spoons with multi-colored guilloche enamel decoration from the Theodor Olsen silversmithing firm, founded in 1868 in Bergen, Norway by Theodore Olsen (1837-1890). Each sterling silver spoon is decorated with an array of colorful and translucent guilloche enamels in yellow, lilac purple, deep purple, white, blue, and green. The end of each handle terminates in a delicate pierced design of scrolls supporting a palmette motif creating the firm's well-loved "Anitra" pattern. These elegant silver spoons would elevate any tea or coffee service and make a truly memorable gift.
The spoons are in very good condition with undamaged enameling and just a little wear to the gilt surfaces. Each measures 3.88 in. length and is stamped 925S / STERLING / [Theodor Olsen maker's mark] / NORWAY on the reverse of the stem. The hinged box latches closed with a metal clasp; there are a few scuffs and a tear/separation at the back corner. The inside is clean and lined with ivory colored satin and velvet. The box measures 5.88 in. width x 5.75 in. depth x 1.25 in. height.
