Emberlin was painted in 1969 when she was 61 years old. She was in beginning painting class according to the hand written note on the back: “Frankie Emberlin gave 4 or 5 of us friends each two pictures of our choice in late May 1998 - just before she moved to a retirement center. She thinks this one was done in 1969 when she was in beginning paint class. She would have been 61 years old at the time.” The painting features a wood row boat up against the shore of a lake with beautiful lavender mountains in the background under a cloud filled sky. The frame is intricately carved and original to the painting.
