An original watercolor painting on paper by Evelyn Thompson, Scottish artist late 19th and early 20th century, "Twilight" a profile … Read more An original watercolor painting on paper by Evelyn Thompson, Scottish artist late 19th and early 20th century, "Twilight" a profile portrait a raven haired beautiful young woman (possibly related to the artist) with a white head covering and a white blouse with light blue trim, 11 1/2" x 9 1/4", signed E. Thompson and dated '04 (1904) in the lower right corner front. CA number 3925, CA purchased late summer 2023 from an Edinburgh auction house.
The painting has been cleaned and re-matted with White Museum matboard, colored line, Conservation Clear Glass, museum backing and 1 1/2" Abe Munn antiqued silver, distressed moulding.
Evelyn Thompson's address was given as 18 Academy Street, Ayr, Scotland. She exhibited works from 1909 to 1939 at the Arlington Gallery, London and the Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts. See less
