A French Louis XVI style mantel mirror hand-crafted in the 19th century. The ornately carved giltwood frame is in fine antique condition and is richly patinated. The rectangular form is embellished with several bands of high-relief moldings including ‘twisted rope’ at its outer edge and a ‘string of pearls’ around the original mirror plate showing just a bit of foxing. A beautifully designed mirror that would add elegance and texture to any room either placed on a mantel or mounted to the wall. Be sure to view all the images to get a closer look at the details.
