A sophisticated set that includes an oak bergere chair and matching ottoman, from 19th century France. Fluted legs, indicative of the Louis XVI style, support each broad cushioned piece with slender elegance. The sturdy oak frames of each are deeply carved, molded and trimmed and have a well patinated wood finish that gleams. Comfortable cushions on each wide seat presently covered in an ivory-tone upholstery make this set easy to incorporate into any existing home decor. The worn fabric is in good condition with some staining and discoloration, as to be expected with age and use. Comfortable and deep, the seat height is 18 ½” with the cushion.
