Image 50×50 cmI create the picture first in plaster, made from marble dust and a binding agent. This produces a tangibly dimensional look and feel. After being gessoed, I then paint on this relief with high-quality, heavy-body acrylic paint. The end result is a unique and impactful artwork which tends to draw the viewer in.
This picture reminds me of a very pretty stream I played in in my childhood and where we often went for picnics. I would spend hours with my brother building dams, and in some parts it was deep enough to swim. I have highlighted the painting with liquid gold leaf so that it glints in the light and gives a feeling of sunshine and warmth.

This painting is on a canvas-covered board and will need framing – no glass required.
The painting has several coats of a satin varnish for UV and dirt protection.
It is signed and dated on the back.
