‘Lost Garden’
Acrylic and marble plaster on canvas board
Image 50×50 cm
I create the picture first in plaster, made from marble dust and a binding agent. This produces a tangibly dimensional look and feel. After being gessoed, I then paint on this relief with high-quality, heavy-body acrylic paint. The end result is a unique and impactful artwork which tends to draw the viewer in.
I am both a keen gardener and a keen naturalist, and they can often come into conflict. So, my idea of heaven is a neglected garden which has allowed nature to take its course and where you can find the best of both worlds. Coming across something like that is a magical experience. You could also call this a wild garden.
This painting is on a canvas-covered board.
The painting has several coats of a satin varnish for UV and dirt protection.
It is signed and dated on the back.
