The concrete complexion gives the lamp a sculptural and static appearance that is nicely counterbalanced by the subtle, light-colored pigmentation. The mirrored fitting enclosed in the cilinder layers the light subtly over the asymmetrical tube resulting in an impression of great depth. Gestalt is the result of mass meeting grace. Frederik bogaerts and jochen sablon take materials under their skin to feel, become and be it. Demolish, deconstruct and reassemble it. To finally gift the cleared material with a design that uplifts but not outshines the material. A sment design gives matter the well deserved pedestal that is both functional and sculptural.
