It has retained its original ivory colored vinyl that’s in very good condition. The top is a hinged lid that opens up to a storage box. Manufactured by Singer Company out of New York, it was originally a sewing stool but today it’s great for a back entrance if you have small children. Store mittens and hats inside and the kids can sit to put on snow boots. But it really is great in any room you need an extra seat and some storage.
