Surging corners and pale green border. Extra pile strips at each end finish the borders. Weaving began at Hereke under Ottoman Court auspices in the 1840’s, but later died out until revived under private patronage in the early 1960’s. This top condition piece has a velvety, clipped-low pile of excellent wool and goes well with (very) formal furnishings. See less
