This stunning celadon display plate bears an export wax seal (Jianding) on the back. The gorgeous sea-foam green varies in intensity over the deeper areas of the lotus carving. A black spot on the front is an area where the iron has migrated through the piece, evidence of its age. The foot bears ash and kiln debris. A visible orange ring is present where the glaze meets the unglazed foot.
