This one of a kind leather topped bench/stool with biscuit buttoned detail features vintage art nouveau fabric placed in a unique round cut out in the front of the frame. To create this piece, I cut down a salvaged antique speaker table to seating height, painted the frame midnight blue and finished it with hand rubbed wax. I upholstered the cut out, where the speaker used to be, with a vintage remnant of art nouveau fabric featuring a pheasant motif facing the front, and a water lily motif, from the same vintage fabric, covering the back of the cut out. The top is upholstered in a mellow butter colored leather that picks up the gold tones in the fabric beautifully. The leather top is biscuit stitched (no top stitching) and buttoned. The hand pressed buttons are covered in leather of a deep blue hue that matches the color of the frame. The seat height is 20". I am 5'2". When I sit on it, the balls of my feet touch the ground, with the heels slightly above the surface of the floor.
This piece is designed as functional art for the home. I can envision multiple uses including as a stunning entryway statement piece or a gorgeous vanity or bedroom seat. Let your imagination run wild!

The frame has been painted and hand waxed. Some minor wear is visible in the form of a few very small nicks and dents in the wood beneath the new paint. The art nouveau fabric is vintage, as well, and in excellent condition. Supporting materials, beneath the fabric in the cut out, are new, as is the gold braid trim and the upholstery for the seat, including all padding and leather. less
