The China of the 1960s was in many ways closer in time and tradition to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) than to modern-day China. This exquisite wine set, consisting of six footed cups and lidded decanter, is a testament to ancient Chinese craft, with its thousand flower (mille fleur) design and gold gilding. My favorite part is the slightly abstracted Foo Dog that serves as the decanter's finial, as if to guard its contents.
Food Dog included, the decanter stands 9" tall and comfortably holds 16 fluid ounces; the cups stand just under 3" tall and hold 1.5 ounces.
