This … Read more This Really is an Exceptionally Nice Piece of Authentic Antique English Staffordshire Region Pottery. Circa Very Early 19th Century. This LARGE SIZE Pitcher - Batter Jug in Done in the Classic Glossy Pearlware Glaze with 3 Different Polychrome Transferware Decorations. One Side has "THE FARMERS ARMS - IN GOD WE TRUST Motto. The Front has a Romantic Couple Lake Scene with a Whimsical Farmer Related Poem. The Other Side has a Country Farm Scene that includes a Man with Dog - Cattle and Thatched Roof Dwellings. The Top Portion of the Pitcher is done in Dark Coffee Brown Color with Deep Blue Accents & Highlights. Overall Condition for This Type of Early English Utilitarian Ware is is Much Better than Usual. It has Some Top Rim Chips Etc. but No Cracks. It is Sound and Perfectly Usable. Displays Very Nicely. It has Some Very Light Surface Glaze Crazing but this is Typical and Normal as a Result of Age with This Type of Early English Pottery.
LARGE SIZE - It Measures Overall Approx. 8 1/2 inches Tall x 10 1/4 inches Long x 8 inches Wide.
