Biscuit porcelain by Jean Boggio by Franz. This pictorial genre shows a monkey imitating human behavior. He is dressed in a vest, a pointed hat and carries a drum stick. The vest and the cane are enhanced with gilding. The animal's agility allows it a fun balancing position. The quality and finesse of execution make it a precious and delicate object. The subject's universe is filled with fantasy and curiosity.
Jean Boggio started jewelry in
1980 and opened his first jewelry workshop in 1984 in Lyon.
His universe is inspired by tales and legends, and childhood dreams. “It has recurring themes that he regularly uses: the jungle, the circus.”
He became known in 1988 thanks to an exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris.
From this time on, he collaborated with the major French tableware houses: DAUM, BACCARAT, SAINT LOUIS, RAYNAUD, Faïence de NIDERVILLER, Cristallerie de Portieux, Faïencerie et Emaux de Longwy, Porcelaines d'Haviland, Les héirs , Roux Marquiand.
From 2006 to 2012, he was artistic director of the brand “Jean Boggio for Franz” in partnership with Taiwanese industrialist Francis Chen. For four years he was artistic director of the Haviland factory in Limoges.
For his twenty years of creation, the Adrien-Dubouché National Porcelain Museum in Limoges devoted a retrospective to him in 2008.
From 2013 to 2014, artistic director of the TTF high jewelry brand.
